Ms. CHIA HUI
Guitar/Ukulele Educator
MA Arts Pedagogy and Practice, Diploma in Jazz Performance (Guitar)
Chia Hui is our resident guitar/ukulele teacher. She has been a part of the Nuttie family since January 2017. An avid musician who graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts, Chia Hui is interested in exploring ways of teaching music and making music accessible. Chia Hui’s students range from 4-year-olds to adults looking for ways to unwind. Her teaching philosophy is that knowledge construction is a process that involves collaborative co-creation between teacher and student. She believes in promoting empathy and care as an integral part of the classroom culture that values diverse perspectives and collaborations. Her role is to facilitate curiosity-driven learning based on students’ abilities. Chia Hui achieved this by breaking down complex topics into accessible components, providing opportunities for self-exploration and creative thinking. On 21 December 2019, Chia Hui shared a stage with Tessera, Singapore’s premier all-female modern jazz ensemble at Esplanade.

Mr. MATT
Co-Founder
Matt is a mysterious existence in MusicNuts! Besides Loreta, many have not heard of him. None from the Nuttie Family have ever seen him, and he intends to keep it that way 😜. Matt was pivotal in the setting up of MusicNuts! Being a practising lawyer based in our neighbour to the north, he injects MusicNuts! with fresh perspectives and keeps us grounded. He also has his hands on our system and processes, marketing strategies and outreach efforts. Matt has been talking about popping by the Academy, so little Nutties watch out for Uncle Matt!
