Description

Thomas Attwood (1763-1838) was an English organist and composer who held a number of appointments in the royal patronage. In his early years he studied in Naples and in Vienna, where he took lessons from Mozart. Thomas Attwood published these four sonatinas as lessons for ‘Young Beginners on the PianoForte or Harpsichord’ in 1795. These four sonatinas are short, tuneful and easy, which is an excellent introduction to the classical sonatina form.
