Manuel de Falla: Pièces Espagnoles pour Piano

It’s after having heard a Beethoven symphony that Manuel de Falla starts a composer career. A student of José Trago for the piano and of Felipe Pedrell, Manuel de Falla composes many little pieces for piano: waltzes, caprices, nocturnes, Andalusian serenades… before composing large-scale works. He wins a composition prize at the Académie des beaux-arts, which will allow him to go to Paris where he will meet Ravel, Albéniz and Ricardo Viñes who will deeply influence his compositions.
