Piano Prep Tutor – For 3.5 to 5 Year Olds

The Piano Prep Tutor is designed to help very young children between the ages of three-and-a-half and five years old to start the process of learning how to read and play music. It encourages learning via an activity-based system which keeps the process of learning fun, essential to maintain a child’s interest. Much of the time in the first few months of learning should be spent on playing musical games and development of the ear, through which aural ability and coordination skills will develop. The set order of teaching should be followed, regardless of the starting age of the child. The topics covered include sitting posture, hand shape, keyboard geography, musical alphabet, finger numbering, pulse and pitching, finger exercise, staff notation, legato and staccato articulations, and dynamics.
