Selected Elementary Pieces of the Baroque Period

The ‘Selected Elementary Pieces Series’ helps students build a strong music learning foundation across four main styles and periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century. ‘Selected Elementary Pieces of the Baroque Period’ is a selection of grades 1-3 pieces from some of the greatest composers of the Baroque period. These pieces are carefully selected to introduce Baroque music to young musicians. Every piece is provided with information about the composer and musical background, so as to enhance understanding of each piece’s musical style and character. The teaching notes are carefully arranged into three key areas: suggested techniques, possible challenges, and identifying notes and rhythm patterns. To deepen understanding, two music activities and a quiz are included to explore the style and period further.
